Dance Off! began in 2007 by founder Kim Rhodes. Launce Roma joined in 2008, adding a new dynamic to the team and the creation of a second senior camp. Kim Rhodes and Launce Roma are both trained professional dancers and DEC professional teachers working within the public school system. Both instructors have amassed a large network of dance industry links which can help talented students to move forward with a career in dance.
The Dance Off! initiative aims to provide talented dance junior and senior students in NSW public schools an opportunity to develop their skills, technique and performance ability. Residential dance camps are held in a specialised environment, with experienced internationally renowned dance instructors. The three-day residential camps aim to provide an exciting, encouraging and quality experience for students who hold dance expertise and training, and also for students who show potential and talent in this field.
Dance Off! Incorporates a diverse range of dance genres and experiences with the view to creating more versatile and accomplished dancers. Genres include Jazz, Musical Theatre, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip – Hop, JFH Commercial Dance and Stretch. Dance workshops will focus on skill development, technique, choreographic skills and performance ability.
